Introducing the Smith & Wesson M&P PMB: Ergonomically machined to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand for effortless stripping, our weighted base allows for rapid mag changes and 4 to 5 extra rounds all while remaining well within the 140 mm gauge limits of USPSA. CNC machined right here in Boise, ID out of 6061 billet aluminum and hard anodized to ensure durable, long-lasting color the M&P PMB comes complete with an extra power spring and our proprietary threaded pin to ensure extremely limited mag failures. I have never used mag bases before so I may be biased, but these bases are very well made and helped getting a solid and proper grip on the pistol.

i love these mag wells. ive ordered new tubes and followers and built extended mags for less than the cost of standard mags

I ordered one and liked it so I ordered two more.  I have my eye on at least 3 more but in a different color so I can readily tell what ammo is in a magazine without having to pull it from the range bag.  The extra weight does change the center of gravity but I like the way it feels in the hand.  Can't say that my accuracy has improved though.

I purchased one mag extension for my M&P Pro 9 to see if I liked having it on a magazine.  I've shied away from magazine extension in the past.  I purchased an orange extension.  Delivered quickly, easy to install, drops the empty mag a little faster but not something I would do over a hard surface.  Construction is top notch with a nice finish and the retaining pin is rock solid.  Adding the extra rounds taxes the thumb.  I was too lazy to get the mag loader from the range bag.  Price is on the high side but you are getting machined aluminum.  I'll end up purchasing two more as I want to use those magazines for different ammo and easy identification.  I've painted the mag bases in the past.  Good way to ID your mags at the range and others are using the same table and have S&W pistols.
