Description Warranty Policy & Prop. 65 Warning

The ODIN Works Heavy Buffer is built to run with Forced Reset Triggers. It offers a simplified, performance-driven approach to blowback PCC tuning, delivering consistent cycling and recoil control without the need for adjustment. Designed to run smoothly on a variety of setups, this buffer achieves increased weight and pairs with an (included) proprietary spring for reliable operation.

Aids in reliable cycling with a Forced Reset Trigger in AR-9 platforms, manages recoil impulse, and reduces wear on moving components.

*Includes proprietary spring

NOTE: Due to the wide variety of AR-platform configurations, the ODIN Works H-FRB Buffer may not function optimally in every firearm with an aftermarket Forced Reset Trigger. Some rifles may require adjustments to the gas system, buffer weight, spring, or other operating components to achieve reliable performance. As with any performance upgrade, proper tuning may be necessary based on your specific firearm configuration and ammunition.

    FAQ's:

    H-FRB Buffer FAQs

What is the H-FRB Buffer designed for?
    • The H-FRB Buffer is designed to help tune AR platforms running forced reset trigger systems. It is intended to support reliable cycling when the firearm, trigger, spring, buffer tube, ammunition, and gas system are correctly matched.

Will the H-FRB Buffer work in every rifle?

    • No. FRT systems often require tuning, and what works in one rifle may not work in another. Barrel length, gas system, buffer tube, spring, ammunition, suppressor use, and trigger setup can all affect performance.

What buffer tube does the H-FRB Buffer use?
    • The H-FRB AR-15 buffer is designed for a carbine-length buffer tube. Always confirm the exact H-FRB model and your firearm setup before ordering.

Does the H-FRB9 work with folding stocks or non-standard buffer tubes?

    • The H-FRB9 is intended for standard buffer tube setups. Folding stocks, adapters, and non-standard tubes may affect fit and function. If your setup is unusual, contact ODIN Works before ordering.

Do I need a spacer with the H-FRB Buffer?
    • Most customers should not assume a spacer is needed. If the carrier gets stuck to the rear or the buffer seems too short, confirm your buffer tube, spring, trigger, and platform setup before modifying anything.

Will the H-FRB Buffer make my rifle run perfectly out of the box?

    • Not always. FRT setups usually need tuning. If your firearm short-strokes, sticks, fails to reset, or only runs in semi-auto, the system may need adjustments to the buffer, spring, gas, ammunition, or trigger setup.

What information should I provide if I need help tuning my H-FRB setup?

    • Please include your firearm platform, caliber, barrel length, buffer tube type, spring, trigger model, buffer model, ammunition, suppressor use, and the exact issue you are seeing.

Why is my rifle short-stroking with an H-FRB Buffer?

    • Short-stroking can be caused by several factors, including buffer weight, spring choice, gas setting, ammunition, suppressor use, or trigger/BCG interaction. Start by confirming your full setup and symptoms before replacing parts.

Can I use the H-FRB Buffer with a suppressed rifle?

    • Possibly, but suppressed rifles often require additional tuning. Suppressors can change gas pressure and cycling speed, so you may need to adjust your gas system, spring, or buffer setup.

Do you offer military or veteran discounts on H-FRB Buffers?

    • ODIN Works offers qualifying military/veteran discounts. Customers may be asked to provide DD-214 or other qualifying credentials before the discount is applied.

Can dealers or bulk buyers purchase H-FRB Buffers?

    • Yes, dealer or bulk purchase inquiries can be reviewed by ODIN Works. Please contact us with your business information, quantity needed, and any dealer credentials.

Can I cancel or change my H-FRB order after placing it?

    • Contact ODIN Works as soon as possible. If the order has not shipped, we may be able to help. If it has already shipped, standard return or exchange policies may apply.

Can I return or exchange an H-FRB Buffer if I ordered the wrong one?

    • Contact ODIN Works with your order number and the product you meant to order. If eligible, support can help determine the correct exchange or return path.

3 of 5 Not very heavy July 19, 2026

Nice design but it has to be the lightest heavy buffer ever. Anyway didn’t help the light strike. It’s now sitting in a drawer maybe useful for the next build

1 of 5 FRT Buffer July 5, 2026
Reviewer: JJ from America
I was excited to receive these but completely disappointed with the outcome. Fit one in and nothing, no bang, no nothing, failed to even fire semi, much less with a FRT. Swapped back out to the H3 and flawless, I have to return them as they are paperweights right now.

5 of 5 H-FRT9 Heavy Buffer June 11, 2026
Reviewer: JakeE from Pickens, SC United States
Not much of a review here, I’ve only put about 200 rounds down range with this system, but it does seem to function very well. I just built a full Aero/Ballistic Advantage 8.3” AR9, and this is the buffer/spring I threw in, with the intention of putting in a super safety down the road. The only issues I had seem to be ammo related, tried multiple 147 grain rounds, and the one that fired without issue was blazer brass, has feeding issues with Remington UMC and Fiocchi 147’s, but it ate the blazer and regular ball with zero issues. The buffer/spring did its job well, felt recoil was lighter than expected, cycling felt smoother than a standard setup, and like I said, functioned flawlessly with ammo that gun seemed to like. I’ll update this review whenever I throw in a super safety and run this build over 1k rounds. So far I’m quite happy with it.
